The Sang’ida Foundation – 2020 Touch for Change 10Km
Walk theme:
“Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Climate Action.”
As we launch our theme for 2020, we are reminded that Climate change impact is happening now all over the world. Therefore, Adaptation, Advance planning and Infrastructure-building in anticipation of Climate Impact is particularly crucial for people with disabilities.
The impacts of climate change disproportionately affect people with disabilities. They are frequently in situations of social, economic, and political disadvantage and may not have access to adequate resources, information, and services necessary to adapt to the effects of climate change. Women and Children with disabilities are triply affected by climate change compared with their male counterparts.
